Due to the crazy heat & humidity I am changing the park time so we can enjoy some time outside before the 100* heat index melts us all away.

2nd Wed of the Month

Andover Central Park

If we get too hot then we can always go to the Andover Library and let the kids play with the puzzles and read books. And mourn that there is no longer a coffee shop in the Library (just thought I would throw that in there!). :)

Here's the Scoop...
We are going for free - a little less preparation for play group & MOST IMPORTANT...consistency!

So... Here's the schedule
Weather Permitting we will be at the park at 10am on Wednesdays for playgroup. Anyone is welcome, so invite your friends. Any age group of kids are welcome so we hope to see you there.
Bring a snack or a sack lunch if you would like.

Wednesday, May 12th we will be at Andover City Park, located just across from the Andover Library.

May 19th - join us at the Bel Aire Park, located on Woodlawn just south of 45th street (next to the fire station)

May 26th - join us at Sedgwick County Park, the play area near the Zoo Blvd entrance.

For Future Reference here is the plan...
Each Month, weather permitting we will be at the follow location at 10am:
1st Wed - Eastborough Park
2nd Wed - Andover City Park
3rd Wed - Bel Aire Park
4th Wed - Sedgwick County Park

Please check back here regularly just to make something hasn't changed. If the above parks don't work out in May, then we may change locations for June. But for now this is the plan we are hoping to stick with.

Coming from N. Woodlawn- headed toward Kellogg you will turn left on Peachtree Lane. Then turn on Lakeside and you will see the park. There isn't alot of parking in the parking area so you may have to park on the street. You can also come in from Douglas- taking Mission Rd down to Lakeside.

It occurred to me that some of you may not know where the new & improved Andover Public Library is, it is located on Central.

Central Ave runs through Wichita into Andover. Take Central Ave east of Andover Road. The library entrance will be on your right (south side of the road) just past the Middle School and High School. You will see a Scooters Coffee Sign that's where you turn.

Our next Wiggly Wednesday playdate will be July 22nd.
Jess is on Vacation this week and I have had a wild two weeks, I won't go into it but let's just say I'm real tired and need to get myself and my house in order - regroup, ya know. :)

So Join Us on the 22nd at...
Andover Public Library/Park
10am is Story Time for preschool aged children. They have 2 stories and an activity. Siblings of the kids are welcome to join in.

Scooters Coffee House is located just inside the Andover Library. Mommies/siblings can grab a coffee or yummy treat (muffins & Connie's Cookies!) and enjoy the library.

10:30am
Join us at the park located next to the library. Lots of fun new playground equipment was installed less than a month ago and it is great fun!

So come for part of our play date or come for all of our play date - but we really do hope to see you there!
As always invite friends - the more the merrier!

I am really excited to grab an iced coffee & hang out with other mommies & kiddo's at the new awesome park.

Coming from the church- take 21st down to Webb Rd- turn left on Webb. Make a right on Bedell (it will be a road before you get to the Dillons at Harry/Webb). Turn right on Breckenridge St. Then make a left on Breckenridge Ct.

Or you can take Rock to Harry and turn on Breckridge St- which is the road before Dillons. Then take a left on Breckenridge Ct.

Linda usually opens the gate to come around back- so you will not have to knock on her door....just go ahead and go around back. :o)

We are SO SO excited about Wiggly Wednesday June 17th!
If you are a dad, please don't read this, you'll ruin the surprise!

Here is what we are going to be doing. We are going to be decorating sugar cookies that look like neckties. Brook's Brothers gave us fancy tie boxes (navy & gold lettering on them) we are going to put tissue paper in them and our cookies. Also we will be making cards for dad.
Dad will think he is getting a tie from a nice store but really there will be a homemade treat inside that was made with lots of love (and hopefully minimal finger licking!).

Cost for this event is $1 per child to cover the cost of supplies.
Invite friends! Anyone is welcome.
RSVP so we have enough supplies for everyone to join in the fun!

zoo & rain...

If it is raining tomorrow morning we will postpone the Zoo Trip to next week, June 10th.
Hopefully the rain/storms will pass and we will be able to enjoy the zoo and the cooler temperatures.

We are going to the Zoo!
Please join us at the Sedgwick Co Zoo this Wednesday
June 3rd
9am

We will gather just past the entrance gate near the flamingos. We plan to wait there until 9:15 for everyone to arrive and then go to the Children's Farm (aka the petting zoo).
This way if people arrive a little later than 9:15 they will be able to find us more easily.
After the children's farm will can move through the zoo at any pace you would like.

The Elephants do their training exercises at 10:45 every morning so maybe we will get to see that.

Can't wait to see everyone!

Here are directions from a friend (this will be my first time to go to this park...i'm excited!):
"I think the only way to get to Eastborough Park is off of Douglas. I actually take Central east, turn south on Woodlawn, turn east on Douglas and then south on Hampton Road. Coming from Rock, you would need to go west on Douglas and go almost all the way through Eastborough. About a block before the stop light at Douglas and Woodlawn there is a little "cut through" street. I believe that is Hampton as well."
Or
If you are driving on Woodlawn, between Douglas & Kellogg there is a street called Peach Tree Ln - turn east on Peach Tree and then right on Lakeside and you will see parking for the park.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Mall last week for some fun play time! It was fun to see the kids enjoy playing together and to meet some new mommies.

in the food court, I'm pretty sure it is just outside of the Sears entrance - where the Easter Bunny was a few weeks ago)

It's a nice enclosed play area with some toys to climb on and benches for mommies to sit on. Strollers will certainly fit in the area. We should be able to keep a very close eye on our kids while they play and enjoy some time with other mommies as well.
